Work is underway on Great Northern locomotive #1355 at the Sioux City Railroad Museum. RDG Steam Services was onsite to perform the FRA 1,472-day inspection and help chart the next steps of this exciting operational restoration.

A lively crowd gathered in Cleveland last fall for American Steam Railroad’s whistle blow event, featuring live steam demonstrations and an Advance-Rumely steam tractor supplied by RDG Steam Services. The event raised funds that directly support the restoration of Reading 2100 / AFT #250.

2100 / AFT #250 Steam Test Debut
In April 2025, Reading 2100 / American Freedom Train #250 steamed under its own power for the first time in years. RDG Steam Services contractors were onsite to assist with on-the-spot support and solve last-minute issues during this major milestone.

RDG Steam Services has completed construction of the oil pan for Reading T-1 No. 2100 as part of its conversion to oil firing for American Steam Railroad. The switch to oil simplifies operation and supports future excursion work.
